David Seume released his debut album, It Is What It Is, in December 2008. Seume (pronounced “sue me”) wrote and arranged its 11 tracks, recording them in his bare-bones bedroom studio. The release show received media recognition as one of the year’s highlights in Kansas City music, and the album quickly garnered praise from the press — earning him a Best Singer-Songwriter nomination in 2009 from The Pitch.
